flashed the DUET board
set the IP settings – except there’s no network where it is
switched the main power on… EEEEK

The hot end fan comes on 8)
Run pronterface
Set the hot end to 100C – check!
Set the hot end to 200C – check!
Smell that oil burning
OFF

Set the bed to 45C – wait for it… YES, the bed is WARM – check!
OFF

Move the axis – OMG! OMG!

Whirr! – check!
X, Y and Z – check!

Enough…

Next is the bed compensation. OMG, it’s working so far!

Removed the awful crimped connectors for the thermistor and used some more simple connectors. Now I’m seeing bed temp. when I try the test again.

Oh drat. The bed thermistor isnt’t working. The electronics reported:

B: 10.5 T: -273

sure sign the bed isn’t connected. So I took it apart and realised straight away – the connectors weren’t fully pushed into the holes. Trouble is one was wrecked when I crimped it on, so I’ve had to remove it. Now I’ll have to solder a small piece of wire onto the thermistor to get it into the crimping connector. Very fiddly.

Otherwise good start from the electronics.

Instead of four global FX, instead I’m going for 4 FX slots per instrument. You can build a simple chain of FX that way.

“it may be a bit fiddly”

Oh boy. Getting a belt around a pulley in a recess via a slot then out again through another slot. Had to use a snipe nose pliers to get it through. Then it engaged with the pulley and I could see it on the out slot, and pulled it through. Phew!

Added the X axis to everything else, added the Z screw. Next is to add the belt that moves the head unit.
